Mr. Amarendra Khatua is a veteran diplomat who belongs to the Indian Foreign Service. In his diplomatic career, he has held varied positions in the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Missions abroad. At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he has worked in different capacities in key Divisions that include Finance, Administration, Northern Division, and Latin America Division. He has also served in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Planning Commission, and Ministry of Industry.
Mr Khatua has held the positions of Director General at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations; Dean of the Foreign Service Institute, and Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs. He was Ambassador of India to Argentina with concurrent Accreditation to Uruguay and Paraguay; Ambassador of India to Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and concurrently Ambassador to Guinea and Liberia High Commissioner of India to Sierra Leone. He has also served as a Special Envoy to South Sudan and Sudan to broker peace between the two countries.
Mr. Khatua is an accomplished writer with more than 40 collections in Hindi, English, Odia, Spanish, and all other major Indian and international languages.
