CYL co-hosted the United Nations World Teachers’ Day and Higher Education and Development Summit 2024 on 5 October 2024 in the presence of India’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Hon’ble Shri Ram Nath Thakur; Prof. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities; Prof. Prem Vrat, Chairman, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT); Dr. Gregory Berglund, CEO, The Planet Earth, USA; Dr. Krishen Kumar, Former Chief Technologist, Johnson Space Center, NASA, USA; Mr Raj Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC); Mr SN Tripathi, Executive Director, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC); along with more than 300 of India’s leading academicians, high-level government officials, diplomats and university representatives from across the country.

2024 World Youth Skills Day Celebration

The Confederation of Young Leaders of India (CYL) and the International Association of Educators for World Peace, a United Nations affiliate institution, co-hosted a World Youth Skills Day celebration at the India International Centre in New Delhi on 15 July 2024. The theme, ‘Youth Skills for Viksit Bharat @2047,’ aligned perfectly with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary aspirations.

This event saw participation from over 100 celebrated academicians, including chancellors, vice-chancellors, scholars, students, and media personnel from across India including Prof. T G Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India and Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of NAAC, NBA, and NETF, Government of India.

Embassy of the United States of America (USA) in India hosts CYL over a Christmas festivity private lunch at the ITC Maurya, New Delhi

CYL Chairman attended the Diwali festivity reception hosted by the Embassy of Vietnam at the kind invitation of Ambassador H.E Mr. Pham Sanh Chau.

H.E. Mr. José María Rídao Domínguez, the Ambassador of Spain to India

CYL Chairman met H.E. Mr. José María Rídao Domínguez, the Ambassador of Spain to India. The two had a constructive conversation on promoting people to people, culture and academic cooperation with young people at its core.

Chairperson met the High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, H.E. Mr. Dato Muzafar Shah Mustafa.

They engaged in a lengthy and cordial discussion, focusing on crucial topics to bolster bilateral relations and empower youth-driven connections between India and Malaysia.

Chairperson proudly presented a publication titled “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Transforming Lives, Building New India,” reflecting their commitment to transformative initiatives.

Chairperson had a cordial meeting with The High Commissioner of Tanzania H.E Mrs. Anisa Kapufi Mbega. The two reviewed the full range of youth-led India-Tanzania people-to-people contacts. Tanzania is India’s largest and closest development partner in Africa and we will continue efforts to increase mutual understanding between the people of the two countries. Chairperson also presented a book titled ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Transforming Lives, Building New India’ edited by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India.

Chairperson called on H.E. Mr. Ali Achoui, the Ambassador of Algeria. The meeting was an occasion to discuss the means and ways of expanding the historical relationships of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and India. Chairperson also presented him with a book titled ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Transforming Lives, Building New India’ edited by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India.

Chairperson called on H.E Dr. George Vella, the President of Malta at the San Anton Palace (The Official Residence of the President of the Republic of Malta).

Chairperson called on the Ambassador of Portugal to India, H.E. Mr. João Ribeiro de Almeida and discussed cooperation for enhancing the contribution of Indian and Portuguese youth in enhancing our people to people and cultural contacts. The two had a very cordial meeting and agreed to work closely on areas of mutual interest.

Chairperson presented the Copy of the Book Titled “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ Vision for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission): Transforming Lives, Building New India” edited and published by the Publication Division of the Confederation of Young Leaders of India.

The Children and Youth Council of the Government of Thailand received Chairperson Mr. Suwan to a warm welcome during his recent visit to Bangkok in February 2024. The Chairperson also presented award-winning publications on the good governance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to the leadership.
India and Thailand share deep historical and cultural ties. With India championing the voice of the Global South, both nations shall continue to forge strong strategic partnerships including youth to youth cooperation in 2024 and beyond.

Chairperson met Assistant Secretary Honorable Mrs. Lopez De Leon of Philippines and Honorable Mr. Ronald Gian Carlo L. Cardema, Chairman of the National Youth Commission of the Government of the Philippines in Manila, the Philippines on 26 February 2024.

The leaders agreed to take forward and broaden our bilateral ties, in particular youth, education and cultural cooperation. Chairperson said, ‘’Given our mutual commitment to democratic ideals, our talented diasporas, our shared history and geography and above all, our shared desire for national growth with dignity, it is logical that we work together, to realise our vital common stake in the emerging world order.’’

Chairperson had a productive discussion with H.E. Mr. Josel F. Ignacio, Ambassador of the Philippines, on March 6, 2024 at the Embassy of the Philippines in New Delhi. The focus was on fostering youth-led cooperation in cultural, academic, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

Chairperson had a fruitful meeting with H.E. Mrs Peggy Frantzen, the Ambassador of Luxembourg, on March 6, 2024, at the Embassy of Luxembourg in India. Their extensive discussion centered on advancing youth-led cooperation in people-to-people, cultural, and academic spheres. Chairperson also presented a publication on good governance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi to the Ambassador. Exciting collaborations lie ahead.

Chairperson called on H.E. Mr. Josel F. Ignacio, the newly arrived Ambassador of the Philippines to India. India-Philippines relations are driven by our shared values such as commitment to democracy, secularism and pluralism. The two agreed to work closely to promote youth-led people-to-people exchange mechanisms.

Chairperson called on H.E Mr. Nagesh Singh, the Ambassador of India to Thailand in Bangkok, Thailand. India and Thailand are natural partners, linked by history, geography and the close contact between our two peoples. The two deliberated on varied initiatives to deepen the flow of ideas and youth led people-to-people contacts.

Chairperson called on The Right Hon. Dig Bahadur Limbu, Cabinet Minister for Youth and Sports of Nepal. The two had a cordial and substantial conversation to promote youth-led people-to-people exchanges between our two great nations.

Chairperson was honoured to join His Excellency the Governor of the Indian State of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot Ji at the inauguration of the 20th Foundation Day Anniversary Celebration of the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU) on 29 December.

The event was graced by cabinet ministers; over 50 heads and chancellors of various Indian universities; foreign diplomats and over 60 school principals across India. Supported by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India and the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership & Shastri Institute of Governance and Leadership this gathering showcased solidarity with India’s educational domain, contributing to India’s ambitious goal of establishing a world-class university by 2025.

Confederation of Indian Universities stands as India’s distinguished consortium, representing 1000+ governmental and private universities inaugurated in 2004 by the then Prime Minister of India.

Chairperson in his address acknowledged the importance of education and how the National Education Policy (NEP) will transform and foster learning for the 21st century in New India.

Chairperson received Mr. Apoorv Om, a globally acclaimed and award-winning Indian young hearing-and speech impaired talented artist at his office & felicitated him for his contribution to the field of Art and also for efforts towards the inclusion of hearing-impaired people into the mainstream. Inspired by the work of Mr. Apoorv Om, he offered him a fully funded academic scholarship at the CYL-led Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership and also appointed him as the Ambassador for the Societal Inclusiveness Division at the Confederation of Young Leaders – India.

Chairperson and SG called on Dr. Jitendra Mani, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi & Advisor, Confederation of Young Leaders – India and expressed gratitude to the Delhi Police for their dedicated efforts in ensuring safety and security of all.

Chairperson called on Hon’ble Shri Parshottam Rupala Ji, India’s Union Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries at his residence,. Hon’ble Minister lauded the activities being carried out by the Confederation.

Chairperson met Mr. Kazem Samandari, Chairman of L’Opéra French Bakery, and his spouse, Mrs. Christine Samandari at their outlet in Bikaner House. Mr. Suwan praised them for introducing the essence of French bakery to India.

Chairperson and Secretary General met the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, Hon’ble Dr V. Anantha Nageswaranat his office in North Block. They presented the 2024 annual calendar of the confederation, featuring inspiring quotes from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri NarendraModi, focusing on youth empowerment. Under the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s leadership, his zeal for bringing in transformative economic reforms across all sectors is truly commendable.

Chairperson and Secretary General called on H.E Mr. István Szabó, the Ambassador of Hungary to India and presented our annual calendar featuring inspiring quotes from Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi on youth empowerment.

Chairperson attended the 2024 National Day Reception of Bhutan at the gracious invitation of H.E. Mr. Vetsop Namgyel, the Ambassador ofBhutan toIndia and conveyed sincere congratulations to the Government and the amiable people of Bhutan.

 Confederation of Young Leaders and the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in India are long-term partners and friends. The Chairperson highlighted the invaluable contributions of the high-ranking graduates from the Government of Bhutan who pursued fully funded academic programs at the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership & Shastri Institute of Governance and Leadership over the years considering them as distinguished star alumni.

Chairperson met H.E. Mr. Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner. The two had cordial conversation to promote youth led people to people and cultural cooperation between India and the United Kingdom. Chairperson presented the 2024 annual calendar, featuring inspiring quotes from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, focusing on youth empowerment. India and UK are actively engaged in reframing the relationship for contemporary times.

Chairperson called on H.E Mr. Haymandoyal Dillum, the High Commissioner of Mauritius and the former Foreign Secretary of Mauritius at the Mauritius High Commission in New Delhi.

Chairperson presented the High Commissioner with a copy of the publication titled “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision for Swachh Bharat: Transforming Lives, Building New India” published by the Confederation of Young Leaders and released by Union Cabinet Minister Hon’ble Shri Hardeep Singh Puri Ji.

Chairperson Mr. Suwan said ‘’It was in Mauritius that PM Narendra Modi Ji first spoke about India’s vision of SAGAR – Security and Growth for All in the Region. This is because Mauritius is at the heart of India’s approach to the Indian Ocean region. Mauritius is also at the heart of India’s approach to development partnerships. With Mauritius, we share not only the waters of the Indian Ocean but also a common heritage of kinship, culture, and language. Our friendship draws strength from the past, and also looks towards the future. India takes pride in the achievements of the friendly people of Mauritius. The spirit of Mauritius is inspiring. Our partnership is destined to soar even higher in the coming years.’’

We look forward to boosting our cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially the youth and culture.

Chairperson sought blessings at the revered ISKCON Temple in New Delhi. During his visit to ISKCON Temple, he engaged in dialogue with Shri Yudhistir Govinda Das, Country Director of Communications, National Spokesperson for ISKCON, and Trustee of the Bhaktivedanta Research. During this visit, Chairperson was honoured with the Bhagavad Gita and pledged to promote Lord Krishna’s teachings among the youth in India and globally.

Following the clarion call of Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Hon’ble Shri V K Saxena for the ‘100 days to beat plastic’ campaign initiated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi; Chairperson participated in ‘Cyclothon’ as the Guest of Honour co-hosted by the Embassy of Denmark, Confederation of Indian Cyclists and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on 5 February 2023. Ambassador of Denmark to India, H.E. Freddy Svane was the Chief Guest. The cyclothon commenced from the Embassy of Denmark to Moolchand Bridge in New Delhi and saw the participation of over 150 cyclists to spread awareness cutting down the use of plastic in daily life.

Chairperson called on Hon’ble Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chair of W20 India (Women-20, the official engagement group of G20 India), Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture and the globally renowned performing artist on 03 February 2023.

Sangeet Natak Akademi, the apex governmental body in the field of performing arts in the country, was set up in 1953 for the preservation and promotion of the vast intangible heritage of India’s diverse culture expressed in forms of music, dance and drama.

W20 is the official G20 engagement group focused on gender equity. Its primary objective is to ensure that gender considerations are mainstreamed into G20 discussions and translate into the G20 Leaders’ Declaration as policies and commitments that foster gender equality and women’s economic empowerment,

Chairperson called on H.E Mr. Juris Bone, the Ambassador of Latvia and congratulated him on assuming charge as the Ambassador on 03 February 2023.

The two had an amiable conversation on further fostering youth-led people-to-people, sports and cultural cooperation between our two great nations.

Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture represented by its President Ambassador Shri. Anil Trigunayat, Former Indian Ambassador to Malta, Jordan and Libya & the Confederation of Young Leaders, New Delhi represented by its Chairperson signed an MOU for mutual cooperation in the areas of people to people, commerce and trade related cooperation on 16-Jan-2023 in New Delhi.

Chairperson met Hon’ble Smt. Roopa Mishra, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India and Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The two had a constructive and amiable conversation on further implementing programs and initiatives to complement and supplement the grand vision of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Chairman Mr. Suwan attended the National Day Reception of Denmark and Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II’s 82nd birthday Celebrations on the kind invitation of the Ambassador of Denmark to India, H.E Mr. Freddy Svane on 21 April 2022.

On the sidelines of the reception, Mr. Suwan held cordial conversations with H.E Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture and H.E Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, Chief of the Foreign Affairs Division of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Confederation of Young Leaders of India and the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership jointly organized the two-day National Winter Program on International Affairs and Foreign Policy 2024, held from February 8-9, 2024, in New Delhi on “Unveiling Bharat’s Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam for the 21st Century – Crafting a Vision for Amrit Kaal”. The program aimed to showcase India’s dynamic foreign policy, guided by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, fostering pride among young Indians by highlighting India’s monumental global contributions.

With a diverse agenda featuring speaker sessions by diplomats, engaging dialogues on global issues, and networking opportunities, the program attracted 60 outstanding young participants selected from over 280 applications across India.

On Day 1, distinguished guests, including Union Cabinet Minister of India, Hon’ble Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi; Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, Hon’ble Dr. V Anantha Nageswaran; former Union Cabinet Minister of India, G20 Sherpa and Senior Parliamentarian Shri Suresh Prabhu; Padma Vibhushan awardee Hon’ble Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Member of the Indian Parliament and India’s Legendary Cultural Icon along with over 12 Ambassadors / High Commissioners from friendly foreign nations, graced the occasion.

Continuing the annual tradition of the India – Israel Youth Dialogue, Confederation of Young Leaders, New Delhi and the Embassy of Israel in India co-hosted the second edition of the India – Israel Youth Dialogue 2022 on 20 October 2022.
