As part of the National team, the Confederation played a pivotal role in shaping the largest public discourse around UN-75 in India.

CYL #BillionFor5Trillion Nationwide Campaign: Public Movement and a Participatory Process to become a $5 Trillion Economy

Under the patronship of Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Member of Indian Parliament and the then Minister for Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Young Leaders, New Delhi initiated ‘Billion for 5 Trillion’ Nationwide Public Campaign – A Public Movement and a Participatory Process to become a $5 Trillion Economy. The Confederation’s Billion For $5 Trillion Campaign targeted towards uniting the billion-plus Indians for a shared dream by achieving the target of becoming a $5 Trillion economy at large.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi has laid an ambitious goal for India to become a five-trillion-dollar economy in the coming years. Prime Minister has always highlighted how the Indian economy is full of opportunities for the youth and the ways in which the recent policy decisions will further boost its growth. Confederation believes that if each Indian makes it his/her personal mission to contribute effectively in India’s economic growth, nothing can stop us!

India’s billion-plus strong population is our biggest asset to achieve the goal of building a $5 Trillion Economy and setting even more ambitious goals for the future. With the large demographic dividend, we enjoy with about 65% of the population as young, the odds of achieving our target increase manifold. The ever-increasing young workforce coupled with robust reforms launched by the Government will propel India to achieve the goal set by the Prime Minister. A billion-plus people working to their highest potential is what will propel India to the $5 trillion targets and beyond. CYL-led #BillionFor5Trillion Nationwide Campaign continues to work in close cooperation with Union Government, State Governments, Municipalities, and Panchayats to chalk out a master-plan paradigm for uniting Indians to contribute effectively to the $5 trillion goal. The public campaign has adopted an ‘ABC’ strategy uniting the Administration (A), Businesses (B) and Communities (C) to work together as one towards the common goal.

CYL #Youth4India@75 Nationwide Campaign: Public Movement and a Participatory Process to commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements, especially the youth

The Government of India has set up an ambitious plan of accelerating India’s national development in the 75th year of Independence. It is in this regard, the Confederation is extensively working to boost India’s global framework through various engagements spearheaded by young people including a publication of a multi-volume annual report booklet on “Youth for India at 75: Charting Vision for India at 100”; highlighting the successes and various initiatives taken by the Government of India to improve India’s Global standing, boosting India’s soft power and shaping a robust good governance model. As we set foot and drive through the third decade of the century, India stands at the brink of 75 years of progressive, instrumental growth and recognition.

In an era in which global aspirations have changed, the dynamics of international politics are gaining new shape and momentum. As India rises on the global stage, the potential of India’s vast youth in achieving these aspirations cannot be negated. Therefore, the Confederation continues to celebrate the achievements, success stories and innovative governance initiatives launched by the Government of India including highlighting various schemes, programs and welfare measures taken by the Government of India through wide-ranging events and engagements across India.

This flagship initiative by the Confederation is dedicated to the youth of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self Reliant India). It envisions how India should be in her 75th year of independence and seeks to bring together all stakeholders including the industry, government, youth institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision into a reality. Throughout the year, under the Youth for India@75, the Confederation of Young Leaders, New Delhi continues to organize and conduct youth-led skill-oriented programs having social, cultural, developmental, educational, scientific, technological, environmental, economic and positive content for the optimum development of India when India would celebrate it’s centenary.

Democracy and Youth

Strong, inclusive democracies need youth participation! Young people are politically active, engaged and often at the forefront of global movements and campaigns. However, they are also the generation most likely to be underrepresented in policy-making, leading to decisions that do not reflect the realities of young people. Confederation aims to make sure that all young people have the right to participate in democracy and become active citizens. Policies and legislation that affect young people, must include an impact assessment, and ensure there are mitigation measures in place for those youth groups that might be negatively impacted by the new policy or legislation.
